If all previous dues have been cleared and the Total Amount Due is paid in full by the payment due date, the interest-free period applies to the eligible transactions. If only the Minimum Amount Due is paid, interest continues to apply to subsequent transactions from the transaction date.

Things to Know Before Applying for an Instant Credit Card Online

Before you apply for a credit card online, you must keep a few important things in mind to keep your finances stable.

  • Know Your Credit Score: Be aware of your credit score and how it impacts your eligibility for acquiring a credit card. A higher credit score will give you favourable terms and better card options.
  • Interest rates & Fee – Keep an eye on the interest rates, annual fees, late payment charges and other fees associated with the card.
  • Credit Limit – Check the credit limit you’re being offered. A higher limit can be beneficial but spend responsibly to avoid accruing higher debt.
  • Timely Payments – Make sure to pay your credit card bills on time before the due date to avoid late payment fees and interest charges. Paying your bills on time will, in fact, positively impact your credit score.
  • Rewards & benefits – Understand the benefits & perks associated with the credit card before you apply for it. Consider how they can align with your financial lifestyle like travel rewards if you’re a frequent flyer or dining discounts if you eat out often.

Using your credit card responsibly not only helps you boost your credit score, but it’s also rewarding in the long run with its perks & privileges. That’s why spend with your credit card responsibly and manage your finances wisely.

Credit Card Safety and Smart Usage Tips

A credit card is most rewarding when you use it securely and repay it responsibly. Follow these simple practices to protect your card and keep your credit profile healthy:

  • Never share your card PIN, CVV, OTP or card details over calls, messages or social media.
  • Use your card only on trusted websites, merchant terminals and apps.
  • Enable transaction alerts and regularly review your card statement for unfamiliar transactions.
  • Set transaction limits and control domestic, international and online usage through the available card-control options.
  • Pay the Total Amount Due by the due date whenever possible. Paying only the Minimum Amount Due keeps the account active, but interest continues on the unpaid balance.
  • Report a lost card, suspicious transaction or unauthorised use immediately through official IndusInd Bank channels.

These habits help you enjoy the convenience of a credit card while avoiding fraud, late-payment charges and unnecessary interest.

Key Terms Related to Credit Card

Understanding a few basic credit card terms helps you use your card with greater confidence:

  • APR (Annual Percentage Rate): The annualised cost of carrying an unpaid credit card balance. The applicable APR differs by card and is mentioned in the card’s terms.
  • Billing Cycle: The period during which your card transactions are recorded before a statement is generated.
  • Credit Limit: The maximum amount you can spend or borrow on your credit card at a given time.
  • Minimum Amount Due (MAD): The minimum amount you need to pay by the due date to keep the card account regular. Paying only the MAD does not stop interest from applying on the remaining outstanding balance.

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for an IndusInd Bank Credit Card. However, there are several factors such as income, credit score, and occupation, other than age that play a decisive role in your credit card application.

Having multiple credit cards can be useful if you can manage them responsibly. Different cards offer rewards, discounts or travel benefits across different spending categories, while an additional card can also act as a backup. However, multiple cards also mean more bills, fees and due dates to manage.

A debit card uses money directly from your savings or current account. A credit card allows you to borrow up to an assigned limit and repay the amount later. Credit card balances attract interest and fees if not paid on time, while responsible credit card usage can also help build your credit history.

Please note that you are required to pay an additional fee when you use a credit card to make a cash withdrawal. Bank charges 2.5% of the amount you withdraw using a credit card as a credit card cash advance fee. Credit card cash advance fee is subject to change based on periodic review by IndusInd Bank. Since cash withdrawal transactions attract interest charge from the date of transaction, it is recommended to settle the same at the earliest possible to minimize the outgo towards interest charges.

You can convert either a specific transaction or your outstanding credit card balance into easy EMIs after paying the minimum amount due. Simply log in to the IndusInd Bank Mobile Banking App or use any authorised banking channel, select the eligible transaction or outstanding balance, choose your preferred EMI tenure, review the applicable charges and total repayment amount, and confirm your request. Once approved, the amount will be converted into EMIs and billed accordingly.

Credit-card cash withdrawal is rarely free. The applicable fee and interest depend on the card’s current schedule, and interest may start from the withdrawal date. Check the charges first and avoid cash advances unless absolutely necessary.

A direct transfer is generally not a free bank-transfer facility. Some cards may offer a cash advance or pre-approved loan-on-card, but fees and interest can apply. Check for an authorised facility from the issuer instead of using third-party workarounds.

Yes, if the insurer or payment portal accepts credit cards. Check for convenience fees and whether the transaction earns rewards or qualifies for EMI. Eligibility, tenure, interest and other charges depend on the current card offer and terms.

Use your credit card for eligible transactions covered under its rewards programme. You earn additional points on selected categories or milestone spends, but the earning rate, exclusions and caps vary by card. Check the specific card’s reward terms, as transactions such as fuel spends may not qualify for points.

Some jewellery transactions may not be eligible for EMI conversion on certain cards.

Please note, these benefits remain subject to the latest card terms, participating lounges and applicable spending criteria.

A credit card can help you save if an offer applies to your purchase. Check offers applicable on jewellery purchases for your credit card and make the most of it.

Yes, your credit card usage affects your credit score. Paying bills on time, keeping credit utilisation manageable and clearing the Total Amount Due regularly can support a healthy credit profile.
Missed payments, repeated late payments, very high credit utilisation and carrying large outstanding balances can negatively affect your score. Use the card within your repayment capacity and treat the due date as non-negotiable.

MORE FAQs

There is no single IndusInd Bank Credit Card that guarantees the highest credit limit for every customer. The limit is assigned individually and depends on factors such as income, credit history, repayment behaviour and the Bank’s internal credit review.

You can contact IndusInd Bank Customer Support to request a credit limit increase. The Bank asks for details such as your income, employment and reason for the request. A good credit history, timely payments, responsible card usage and a healthy credit profile can improve your chances, subject to the Bank’s review.

A monthly salary of ₹50,000 does not come with a fixed credit card limit. IndusInd Bank assigns your limit after reviewing your income, credit history, repayment behaviour and overall credit profile. The bank confirms your approved limit after assessing your application.

How quickly you get the card depends on the bank's verification and approval process. A credit card against a fixed deposit uses your FD as security, with a credit limit linked to the deposit amount.

MORE FAQs

A credit card statement is a detailed summary of the transactions of your credit card over a specific billing period. The statement includes information about the opening and closing balance, total amount due, minimum amount due, payment due date, and more. Details regarding purchases, payments, credits, and any fees or interest charged on the card are also available in the statement.

Depending on your bank, your credit card statement may also include the available credit limit, credit utilisation, and reward points earned during the billing cycle.

One must review their credit card statement regularly to:

  • Track their spending and plan card usage accordingly.
  • Identify any unauthorised transactions.
  • Ensure timely payments to avoid late fees and interest charges.

With IndusInd Bank, you can access your credit card statements online, with just a few steps via our IndusMobile app.

Yes, you can pay your Credit Card bill via NEFT. If you have an IndusInd Account, you can pay it directly through our internet banking portal or through our app.

If you have a savings account with a bank other than IndusInd Bank that offers online NEFT funds transfer, you can use it to pay your IndusInd Bank Credit Card bill. This provides a convenient way to manage and settle your credit card payments from any bank account.

How it works:

  • Login to the internet banking facility of your bank and go to their online funds transfer module.
  • Add your IndusInd Bank credit card as a beneficiary to receive the funds transferred (without any space or special character)
  • Initiate an online funds transfer with the IndusInd Bank credit card as the beneficiary.

You can pay your IndusInd Bank Credit Card bill online through UPI, net banking and other authorised payment channels.

For UPI payments, open a UPI app, go to the bill-payments section, select credit card payment, choose the card issuer, enter the required card details and confirm the amount using your UPI PIN. Availability can differ across UPI apps.

APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. It represents the annualised interest cost applicable when you carry an unpaid balance on your credit card. The exact APR is card-specific and is disclosed in the applicable card terms and schedule of charges.

If you pay the Total Amount Due by the due date and have cleared previous dues, the interest-free period applies to eligible transactions. If you carry forward a balance or pay only the Minimum Amount Due, interest is charged on the unpaid amount as per the applicable card terms.

The type of Credit Card transactions eligible for EMI conversion varies as per the card.

Most cards have a minimum transaction limit for EMI conversion, as well as a list of expense categories that are not eligible for conversion. Fuel expenses, for instance, may not be considered for conversion into EMIs.

For example, with the IndusInd Bank Nexxt Credit Card, transactions made for jewellery, fuel, and ATM transactions are not eligible for EMIs. The minimum transaction amount limit for the Nexxt Credit Card also stands above ₹ 2,000.

Open the PDF in a trusted reader and enter the password shared in the statement email or SMS. If you cannot find it, check the original communication, request the statement again through authorised channels or contact customer care.

Yes. Interest rates for revolving credit and cash advances range from 1.79% to 3.95% per month, depending on the card. Interest is calculated daily on the outstanding balance.
If previous dues are cleared and the Total Amount Due is paid in full by the due date, the interest-free period applies to eligible transactions. Cash withdrawals attract interest from the date of withdrawal.

The Minimum Amount Due is the minimum amount shown on your monthly statement that must be paid by the due date. It is not the same as clearing the full outstanding balance.

As per the current formula, it includes 100% of EMIs, GST, fees, finance charges and over-limit amounts, along with 2% of eligible retail spends, cash advances or the remaining balance outstanding. Paying only the minimum amount can increase the interest burden and extend repayment.

If the Total Amount Due is not paid, interest is charged on the outstanding balance. If the Minimum Amount Due is also not paid by the due date, late payment charges apply based on the outstanding balance.
Continued non-payment can affect your credit history, result in the card account being reported as past due and lead to withdrawal of credit facilities.

A credit card balance transfer lets you move an outstanding balance from one credit card to another, usually to manage repayment more effectively. The new card issuer approves the request based on its eligibility criteria, available credit limit and applicable terms.
